Discount Calculator
Work out the final price and rupees saved for any percentage discount.
- Final price
- ₹1,749
- You save
- ₹750
How it works
The final price after a percentage discount is the original price multiplied by (1 − discount ÷ 100); the amount saved is simply the original price minus the final price. Entering a discount above 100% or a negative price returns no result, since neither is meaningful for a real sale.
Example
A ₹2,499 item at 30% off comes to ₹1,749.30, saving ₹749.70 — handy for comparing "30% off" against "flat ₹750 off" deals that look similar at a glance.
Frequently asked questions
Does it handle stacked discounts, like 20% + 10%?
Enter them one at a time: apply the first discount, then run the result through the calculator again for the second — stacked percentages do not simply add up.
What if the store advertises the discount amount instead of a percentage?
Divide the discount amount by the original price and multiply by 100 to get the percentage, then use that here.
Can I use this for a price increase instead?
No — this tool only removes value. For a mark-up, use the Percentage Calculator's percentage-change mode instead.
Is GST applied before or after the discount?
Typically after — GST calculators expect the discounted price as their base. Use the Discount Calculator first, then the GST Calculator on the result.
